Our vision has been to create an environment where people feel confident, relaxed and happy. We feel this promotes optimum language learning

Our methods work. They are varied and challenging. The emphasis is always on communication. Grammar, vocabulary, stress, pronunciation, collocation and intonation is noticed and learned as it arises.

Liz and Tim set up Nab Cottage in 1983 after having taught in Italy, North Africa and France.
Since then we have worked with over 1500 students from 36 countries.
We employ 2 other teachers and live here with our daughters, Ellie, Nicky and Hannah, and many pets !
We love learning, teaching, sharing our lives with other people and the tranquility of the Lake District.
